Rather an interesting fuel-stop this afternoon, involving only the second landing here of a BAe146-100/RJ.70, EI-CPK of Italian operator Club Air visiting briefly on a trip from Rome-Fiumicino to Keflavik with the Italian under-21 football team. The first RJ.70 to visit Newcastle Airport had also been on a football charter, co-incidentally another Italian machine with a consequential registration, EI-CPL visiting at midnight on 10th August 1998 wearing an Alitalia livery but operated by Azzurra Air.
