Newcastle Airport acquired its first resident executive jet for a long, long time today, this HS.125 arriving for use by the Newcastle Aviation Academy. The fuselage, and wings laying alongside, were 'dropped' into the Academy's compound by crane at lunch-time today.
We can now confirm the identity of the aircraft .... HS.125-F3B/RA (25125) 5N-AAN, which is worn under the wings. The aircraft has visited Newcastle before, quite uncannily, the last time almost exactly twenty years ago ! G-AVAI last visited Newcastle Airport on 3rd November 1983, with previous visits to that being made on 14/3/79, 11/5/78, 7/11/78 and 14/10/75 - and that's as far back as I go !.
