LO-COST SCOT STARTS
Sunday 6th July 2003 - By Andy Hutchings

Newcastle Airport gained another 'lo-cost' operator this morning, with the beginning of three weekly flights operated by Air Scotland. Air Holland Boeing 757 PH-AHS wearing the new Scottish 'flag'-carrier's full colour-scheme flew the first Barcelona rotation this morning, followed by the first Palma rotation this afternoon. Another Palma rotation will commence on Thursday 10th July. This series of photographs shows the first ever Air Scotland departure from Newcastle Airport at 0630L, and the aircraft's arrival back from Barcelona just after mid-day.

The aircraft incidentally had last visited Newcastle just two months ago, on an LTE sub-charter on 26th April.
