The new Norwegian carrier, simply called 'Norwegian.no' and a re-branding of Norwegian Air Shuttle, made its first appearance at Newcastle Airport this morning operating a charter flight from Bergen. The carrier's fleet of Boeing 737-300s boasts surely one of the best colour-schemes to have been adopted by a start-up in recent years - great Norwegians from history adorn the tails of the aircraft, LN-KKF wearing an image of Fridtjof Nansen, a scientist and explorer who lived from 1861 to 1930 and who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1922.
The aircraft incidentally had last visited Newcastle as PH-HVM of Transavia in 1989.
